To be blunt, the attitude in your response is absolute nonsense. First, experience is every bit as important as enthusiasm, maybe more. Second, if an older worker is looking for a job, he/she is every bit as motivated as a young person, if not more so, because that person wants or needs to make money. Having a mortgage to pay and a family to feed are the best motivators I know, and older workers usually don’t have the option of going back home to live with parents if unemployed. The mentality you describe is central to the age discrimination we face, and it is baseless.
