I have run into age-based issues since seeking employment after a layoff. There are tricky ways they try to figure out your age like asking when you graduated from high school, which is irrelevant since I have a recent college degree. Also, they ask for your month and day birth date, which would be an easy find for the rest of the information given the openness of the internet. Also, I have been asked to supply this info before being hired along with my social security number. Aren’t all of these unacceptable HR practices? Also, there was an article published recently that stated the “millenials” change jobs about 7 times after they graduate from college. No dedication to an employer, or longevity – so why the problem with those of us who will work for the long haul.
very informative.
