I recently went through two telephone interviews with a company and they both went quite well. I even had a one off with the owner of the company. I was invited in for a "final" interview. When I walked in the room with the hiring manager his countenace gave him away. The otherwise cordial conversations we had on the phone were deliberate and stuffy. I could tell he was shocked at my age and he questioned my knowledge of social media like he was meeting with me for the first time (I didn't look young enough to understand it…). While I was waiting in the lobby area I could hear the HR woman saying, "Are you sure that is Mr.Kennedy? He looks a lot older than he sounded on the phone.". The next day I hand delivered thank you notes and two hours after delivery they called and told me they were going in a different direction.

This absoluteky happens ALL THE TIME! I have experienced it but no one wants to believe it. It is supposed to be illegal, but how do you prove it?
